  A true career does not start with the job; a great career starts with YOU who you are, what you value, what motivates you, what makes you feel alive and passionate. Knowledge and skills can be acquired, but the essence of your true career is the essence of who you are. It can be developed, but not “acquired”. You are born to do it! It is resonant with your life purpose. It calls you. It is your true vocation. You ARE your career. Your “job” is simply the way you choose to express your vocation.

So basically, the recipe for a great career is simple: discover your true passions and design your working life around them.

A mentor is a bit different because he/she gives advice and guidance in a more “hands on” way than a coach does. While it is your responsibility to conduct your own job search, when you are ready to “go for it”, your coach/mentor will support you throughall phases of the application and interview preparation.

In addition to being a career coach, I have years of experience as a personal tutor/mentor for adult learners moving to and from education and the workplace, and have helped hundreds of people with their applications and personal statements for both university and employment. I have also managed, mentored and arranged professional development needs for staff members. And as I was once myself an employer responsible for the interviewing and hiring of dozens of people, I can help you compose your supporting statement on your job application, to better your chances of getting potential employers’ attention. Finally, my experience of training performing artists to overcome stage fright will help you prepare for your interview with confidence.
